In chemistry, how much of a substance
(solute) is present in a specified amount of
a solution. Either amount may be specified as
a mass or a volume (liquids only). Common
units used are moles per cubic decimetre,
grams per cubic decimetre, grams per 100
cubic centimetres, or grams per 100 grams. It
also refers to the process of increasing the
concentration of a solution by removal of
some of the substance in which the solute is
dissolved (solvent).
